Blizzards, Lake effect snow, thunderstorms, high winds, 40 below zero. As the saying goes, "If you don't like the weather in Northern Michigan, wait 5 minutes and it will change." Along with the weather changes, power outages do occur.

Why spend your time going out to the garage, hooking up your gas generator, making trips to the store for fuel, and watching the generator to make sure that it is vented correctly and not running out of fuel? What happens if you are not at home, and the power goes out? No heat, no power to the freezer. A power outage can be a very expensive loss to a home owner.

W. W. Fairbairn & Sons understands that our customers would like a solution that is safe, and sure. Our home standby generators are installed to automatically start, whether or not you are home. This is a no muss, no fuss solution for Northern Michigan homeowners.

That is why we have partnered with Guardian to supply our customers with a permanent solution. The diagram below shows how the generator is hooked into the home power box. If the power goes out for more than 30 seconds, the generator automatically starts and powers your home. It runs on either Natural Gas or Propane so that you don't have to worry about it running out of fuel. Also, once power is restored, the generator will run for approximately 5 minutes to make sure that the power is stabilized coming into your home. No brown outs, no surges.
